| LECTURER - Architecture and Design-
The College of Architecture and Design seeks a full-time lecturer for a one-year visiting appointment for the 2009-10 academic year to teach architectural history/theory. Successful candidates will participate in the intellectual life of the college and, with a full load per semester, be able to teach the following: A two-semester survey course in architectural history/theory which includes global traditions (Required); A graduate level seminar (Required); and a seminar in contemporary architectural theories (Required). Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching and published research that have completed their PhD by the time of appointment, and are able to participate in design studio reviews. The University of Tennessee is accepting applications for a 12-Month, tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We seek an analytical population geographer with forecasting skills and strong quantitative capabilities. | RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - Physics-
Experience is required using ferroelectric (FE) substrate and atomic force microscope to form optical nanostructures on the FE substrate. Use FE substrate to tune the optical response of the grown nanostructures. Must be able to use various optical set-ups and growth systems. | RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - Physics-
Duties will be to conduct experimental studies of superconductive materials to characterize their superfluid density and conduction of "critical current" as a function of temperature, magnetic field, orientation and processing variables. The Research Assistant Professor (RAP) will be responsible for the preparation of samples suitable for transport and magnetic investigations. The RAP will interpret experimental findings in terms of vortex-vortex and vortex-defect interactions and prepare scientific manuscripts and reports describing this work. PhD in Physics (or closely related field) with focus on experimental condensed matter physics and superconductivity; two years or more postdoctoral experience in characterization of superconductive materials is required. The University of Tennessee, College of Business Administration invites applications and nominations for a tenure track, Assistant/Associate Professor position in its Department of Marketing and Logistics. This person will be expected to have expertise in logistics and be willing to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on cross-functional interaction and integration. Although the search is open to all areas of research and teaching interests, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the related areas of supply chain management and decision analysis. Regardless of research area, applicants should also have an appreciation for the role of their research in enhancing the department’s strength in demand and supply integration in a global context. Effective date of employment will be either January 1, 2010, or August 1, 2010, or when filled. This is a project-oriented two-year faculty position charged with advancing UT Libraries' media digitization and streaming initiatives. Consistent with our strategic goals, this person would work with individuals across library departments, with the Office of Information Technology's Digital Media Services and with faculty to plan and implement a media (audiovisual) streaming infrastructure.
